Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 Docket Numbers 50-413 and 50-414 Notification of Change in Snubber Test Plan Gentlemen:
Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.4 and Catawba Technical Specification (TS) 4.7.8e.,
the purpose of this letter is to notify you of a planned change in the snubber test plan for Catawba.
Due to the recent addition of Lisega hydraulic snubbers, the testing plan will be changed to include those snubbers.
TS sample plan 4.7.8e.1) (10% plan) will be utilized for testing Lisega snubbers beginning with the next refueling outage for each unit (Unit 1 end-of-cycle 10 outage scheduled to begin on November 28, 1997 and Unit 2 end-of-cycle 9 outage scheduled to begin on August 29, 1998).
The existing sample plans for Pacific Scientific mechanical snubbers (TS sample plan 4.7.8e.2)) and Anchor-Darling mechanical snubbers (TS sample plan 4.7.8e.1)) are not being changed.
