Exercise Report for the October 29, 1986, Exercise of the Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness Plans for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generatirg Station Attached is a copy of the final Exercise Report for the October 29, 1986, exercise of the of fsite radiological ent;gency preparedness plans for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. Maricopa County and the State of Arizona fully participated in the exercise. 'Ihis exercise report was prepared by Region IX of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
There were no deficiencies or areas requiring corrective action identified during this exercise. 'Ihere were only areas recomended for improvenent.
FEMA Region IX has furnished a copy of the exercise report to the State of Arizona. Based on the results of this exercise, the State of Arizona and Maricopa County demonstrated the capability to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency at the site. 'Iherefore, the 44 CFR 350 approval granted on September 25, 1985, will remain in effect.

Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness Exercise at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station October 29, 1986 Three copies of the evaluation report for subject exercise are attached. The State of Arizona and Maricopa County adequately demonstrated their radiological emergency response operations.
The evaluators determined there is reasonable assurance that the offsite jurisdictions can protect public health and safety in the event of a radiological emergency at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station.
