This report is submitted in accordance with Technical Specification (T/S) 4.4.5.5.b, which states:
"The complete results of the steam generator tube inservice inspection shall be submitted to the Commission in a Special Report pursuant to Specification 6.9.2 within 12 months following the completion of the inspection. This Special Report shall include:
- 1) Number and extent of tubes and sleeves inspected,
- 2) Location and percent of wall-thickness penetration for each indication of an imperfection, and
- 3) Identification of tubes plugged or repaired."
INSPECTION REPORT:
In November 1996, with the plant in Mode 6 for the eighth refueling ou. age, the ninth Steam Generator (S/G) Eddy Current inservice Inspection was performed by Westinghouse Electric Corporation. The final results of this inspection are summarized below and are numbered to correspond with the information requested by T/S 4.4.5.5.b:

Table 1 below shows the scope of the eddy current inspection performed -
during Refuel 8 at Callaway Plant. As shown in this table a 100% bobbin coil examination of Steam Generators A~ and D and 100% top of tubesheet j
(hot leg) RPC examination ~of all four steam generators was performed during

Refuel 8. Additionally, the Row I U bends in Steam Generator C were inspected using a RPC probe.

Page 20 of 20 Additionally, during Refuel 8 the inconel 600 cold leg plugs were replaced with inconel 600 plugs due to the stress corrosion cracking concern addressed in NRC llulletin 89 01. The inconel 600 hot leg tube plugs were presiously replaced with incone! 690 plugs during Refuel 5. Table 9 provides a listing of the tube whose plugs were replaced with inconel 690 plugs during Refuel 8.
