REQUEST FOR PUBLICATION IN BIWEEKLY FR NOTICE - NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE (TAC 64087)
Consumers Power Company, Docket No. 50-155, Big Rock Point Plant, Charlevoix County, Michioan Date of application for amendment: December 5, 1986, as supplemented January 20 and February 4, 1987.
Brief description of amendment: The amendment revises a portion of Section 5.1 of the Technical Specifications to reflect the use of new hybrid control rods, manufactured by NUCOM, Incorporated, in the Cycle 22 core.
The staff has denied that portion of the application requesting changes to Table 1 and 2 of Section 5.2 which specifies the reactor operating parameters for Cycle 22 Reload I-2 fuel. A separate Notice of Denial of Amendment and Opportunity for Hearing has been forwarded to the Office of the FEDERAL REGISTER for publication.

February 17, 1987 Amendment No. 88 Facility Operating License No. DPR-6. This amendment revised the Technical Specifications.
Date of initial notice in FEDERAL REGISTER: January 14, 1987 (52 FR 1551).

, not significantly change the initial application nor the no significant hazards considerations determination as originally noticed. Therefore, renoticing was not warranted.
The Commission's related evaluation of the amendment is contained in a Safety Evaluation dated February 17, 1987.
