This rofers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. A. G. Januska <

of this office on January 26-30, February 2, 3, 5, and 9, 1987, of activities

at Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2, authorized by NRC Operating -

Licenses No. DPR-29 and No. DRP-30 and to the discussion of our findings with t

Mr. R. Bax and others of your staff. It also refers to followup telephone ,

discussions with members of your staff on February 2, 3, 5, and 9,1987. '

The enclosed copy'of our inspection re) ort identifies areas examined during -

the inspection. Within these areas, tie inspection consisted of a selective

examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and

interviews with personnel. In addition, our Mobile Laboratory was at the site

during the inspection to perform independent measurements of radioactivity.

No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this

i inspection.

'.n accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy

of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the ,

NRC Public Document Room.
