This is in response to your letter dated January 14, 1987, which transmitted the proposed scope and objectives information for the LaSalle County Station Exercise to be conducted on April 29, 1987. On February 6, these objectives were discussed by Mr. T. Ploski of my staff and Mr. T. Greene of your staff.
The following changes and clarifications have been agreed to in' order to make these objectives acceptable. Objective 2b will be reworded to indicate that the NRC Headquarters Duty Officer will be called only after the initial emergency declaration.- Calls associated with subsequent reclassifications will be simulated,~ with an exercise controller or NRC observer serving as the duty officer. Objective 2d will be deleted, as Region III staff will not be exercise participants. Objective 3d will be revised to indicate that sample analyses will be simulated.
