This letter confirms my September 24,1997, telephone conversation with Mr. James Lieberman, Director Office of Enforcement of the NRC in which it was agreed that the time for Niagara Mohawk to respond to the Lnvel IV violation discussed in the NRC's letter dated September 12,1997 would be extended until December 9,1997 to allow Niagara Mohawk additional time to evaluate actions required to resolve this issue in light of the generic implications regarding the matter.
We appreciate the staff's patience and cooperation in addressing this matter.
