Each chromatograph detector cell containing Nickel-63 shall be tested for l
I leakage and/or contamination at intervals not to exceed six (6) months.

In the absence of a certificate from a transferor indicating that a test I
l has been made within six (6) months prior to the transfer, a detector cell l
received from another person shall not be put into use until tested.

The test shall be capable of detecting the presence of 0.005 microcurie of l

1 radioactive material on the test sample. The test sample shall be taken I
I from the surfaces of the devicetin which the Nickel-63 is mounted or I

and cell baths, containing licensed material and used in gas chromatography devices, g
I with conspicuously etched or stamped radiation caution symbols without a color i
requirement.

Detector cells containing licensed material shall not be opened or the foil sources l
removed from the detector cell by the licensee.

l Maintenance, repair, cleaning, replacement and disposal of foils contained in i
