Oak Brook, IL 60521 Gentlemen Your letter dated March 20, 1986 did not respond to the itcms raised in our March ftT,1986 letter in sufficient detail for us to cocplete our review.
/J The manufacturer of a generally limnsed device is responsible for the installation, initial radiation survey, removal from service and pmparation of the device for shipaent. 'Ihe recipient of a generally licensed gauge is only allowed to operate the shutter nochanism and collect the leak test sarple, which does not require in-depth training or experience.
However, because you plan to ship this device to various locations, you will be doing the installation, initial radiation survey, etc.
which are the samo procedures that would normally be the manufacturers' responsibility.
'Iherefore, we cust evaluate your procedures in the sane manner as we would the manufacturer's procedures.

A sinple lina sketch of the production line showing where the gauge is to be located.
2.
A description of the training that Roger Harris and Felvin H.
Meyer have had with the installation of the gauge, performing radiation surveys around the gauge, and preparing the gague for shipTent.
3.
A copy of the step-by-step pro dures that you will fo low when installing and renoving the gauges frca service.
4.
A copy of the procedures you will tollow ior the receipt of the gauge at a facility. You should have one of your authorized users on

hand to receive the gauge.
Your procedures should include instructions to plant personnel to see that the gauge is secured prior to arrival of your authorized user.
