WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANT (WBN) UNIT 2 - SPECIAL NUCLEAR HATERIAL (SNH) LICENSE SNH-1873 - TERMINATION REQUEST Pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 70.30, TVA requests termination of the WBN Unit 2 License SNH-1873 dated February 18, 1981, and supplements thereto.
TVA plans to use WBN Unit 1 Reporting Identification Symbol (RIS), XLC, for the site in lieu of multiple RISs for the two units, in order to accommodate any future decision to actively resume construction activities on WBN Unit 2.
This action would eliminate the need for a separate SNH License.
The Enclosure provides the disposition of the WBN Unit 2 fuel on the completed NRC Form 314, " Certificate of Disposition of Haterials." With the exception of loading and unloading the fuel to the new fuel storage area, the fuel did not have any other contact with the plant.
The storage areas at WBN are common to both units.
WBN Unit 1 is licensed to operate under License NPT-90 and the radiolcgical controls for the facility fall under that license; therefore, radiation surveys are not necessary for termination of this license.
