V.C. Sumer Nuclear Station - Regulatory Guide 1.97, Rev. 2 By letter of April 15, 1985, you provided detailed descriptions of your confomance to Regulatory Guide 1.97, Rev. 2.

The NRC staff has completed a preliminary review to assess the completeness and adequacy of your response.

This review is based on a preliminary report (enclosed) performed by the NRC staff's contractor, Idaho National Engineering Laboratory. We have found that we require additional information outlined in the preliminary report in order to complete our review.

In order to preserve our present review schedule, we would appreciate your response to our request for additional information, along with any other coments you wish to make regarding the preliminary report, within 60 days of receipt of this letter.

This request for additional information was approved by the Office of Management and Budget under clearance number 3150-0011 which expires September 30, 1986.

Comments on burden and duplication may be directed to the Office of Management and Budget, Reports Management Room 3208, New Executive Office Building, Washington, D.C.
