Dear Mr. Baggett:

The enclosed calculations provide the backup information for the initial request for additional information (RAI) regarding the referenced report. Calculations am pmvided to address RAl#1 questions: 3-6,3-9,3-10,8-8,8-9,8-10,8-11,8-16,8-23,8-24,8-26, and 8-28. Responses to RAI#1 questions 8-9,8-16 and 8-26 are under revision as a result of the RAl#2 question and backup information will be provided with the RAl#2 responses. A revised response to RAl#1

)

question 7-1 is also enclosed as requested.

Please call me at (202) 586-2797 if additional information is needed prior to submittal of responses to RAl#2.

Sincerely, f-

These 1051-33 8-16 summary tables will be revised in RAI #2 8-23 Weight calculation for the base-mat were given in RAI #1, 8-10 1051-29 8-24 Summary of Stresses in Steel Structure, were given in RAI #1,8-24 1051 33 8-26 Hogging and sagging moment calculations for wind load were given in 1051-32' RAI #1,8-26 8-28 Mode shapes and frequency were given in RAI # 8-28. The detail 1051 35 concrete structural seismic modal evaluation, see TSAR Section 8A.I.

1051 36 For shield plug and source cask tid handling subsystem, see TSAR Section 8A.4. For roof plate, see calculation 1051-35. For mezzanine plate, see calculation 1051-36.

  • Calculations for the design moments in the foundation base mat exterior cantilevers have been revised.

This revision was necessary to correct for the moments resulting from dead weight and live load on the foundation mat. The summary of stresses in concrete stmetures Tables 8.16-1 and 2 in RAI #1 have been revised. The new results are shown in Transnuclear (TN) calculation # 1051-32, Tables 8.16-1,2a and 2b.

The revised calculation of 1051-32 will be included in the RAI #2 response.
