Christnot of the USNRC Region II of a potentially reportable condition concerning the diesel generator lube oil pump suction foot valve.
Transamerica Delaval informed the USNRC in a letter dated March 10, 1986, that the elastomer liner in a foot valve at the Shearon Harris Plant had failed.
This condition could prevent oil from flowing to the on-engine lube oil pump.
Georgia Power Company is evaluating this concern for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant.
Transamerica Delaval is expected to inform the various utilities as to the cause of failure of the foot valve liner in the near future.
At this time, Georgia Power Company expects to inform the NRC of the results of our evaluation on or before July 15, 1986.
