Dear Mr. Colomb:
On August 30,1997 the NRC completed an inspection at your FitzPatrick Power Plant.

The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.

During the inspection period, your conduct of activities at the plant were generally
characterized by safe plant operations. Operator response to a translent caused by the
!
.
loss of a condensate purnp and the station's response to both trains of standby gas
treatment system being inoperable were good.
The security program was inspected during this period Urd it was determined that you are
.
Implementing a security program that effectively protects public health and safety,
in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Ruiss of Practice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosures will be olaced in the NRC Public Document Room.
