CYCLE 11 RELOAD EVALUATION Re:

Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No. 1 The staff is continuing its review of your submittal dated January 22, 1987 regarding your Cycle 11 reload evaluation.

As a result of this review, the staff has determined that the information provided did not provide sufficient detail to complete the review.

The additional information required is identified in the enclosure to this letter and it was also telecopied to Mr. Kevin Holthaus of your staff on January 29, 1987.

In order to complete this review in a timely manner consistent with your schedule for Cycle 11 reload, it is requested that you provide the requested information by February 27, 1987.

The request for information contained in this letter affects fewer than 10 respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

s REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FORT CALHOUN STATION, UNIT NO. 1 CYCLE 11 RELOAD EVALUATION 1.

Batch K fuel assemblies will achieve average burnups greater than 40,000 MWD /MTU during Cycle 11.

Please provide verification that appropriate fuel design criteria are still met.

Include evaluations of cladding collapse, irradiation induced dimensional changes, cladding strain and fatigue, and maximum fuel rod internal pressure.
