I concur with the staffs proposal to issues exemptions pursuant to 10 CFR 20.1401(b)(3 that extends the August 20,1999, deadline to (August 20,2000, or choose another date),
to grandfather those sites whose decommissioning plans cannot be approved by the August 20,1999, deadline. Please note however, that after discussions with OGC, the issuance of the exemptions would not be canied out by Orders, as the paper suggests, but rather by issuance ofletters to licensees informing them of the exemption granted.
