Subject: Inspection Report No. 50-271/86-09
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by J. J. Hawxhurst
on April 21-24, 1986 at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station. Discussions
of our findings were held by Mr. Hawxhurst with Mr. Reid and others of your
staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The areas examined during this inspection were limited to the corrective
actions discussed on July 3,1985, following the 1985 annual emergency
preparedness exercise and changes to the emergency preparedness program.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination of
procedures, representative records, facilities and equipment and interviews
with personnel.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified and no
response to this letter is necessary.
