Reactor 4 970801 F- 298.2 H 2 Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station was manually scrammed at 1340 on August 1,1997, due to a reported fire in the generator exciter. The plant was restarted on August 10, 1997, but due to an isolation condenser shell temperature approaching saturation conditions (during plant heatup); the plant was shut down on August i1,1997, for isolation condenser valve diagnostics. The plant was restarted on August 12,1997, and the generator synchronized to the grid on August 13,1997.
