o APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION GPU Nuclear Corporation Docket No.
50-219 Forked River, New Jersey 08731 License No. DPR-16 During an inspection conducted on April 14 - 18, 1986, the following violation of NRC requirements was identified.
In accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1985), the violation is set forth below:
Section XVI of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50 requires that non-conformances are identified and corrected promptly.
Contrary to the above, as of' April 16, 1986 a non-conformance identified 18 months earlier in technical specification audit S-0C-84-19 has not been corrected promptly.
The non-conformance is a 5 foot long crack in the fire wall of the Turbine Building south stairwell.
This is a Severity Level V Violation. (Supplement 1)
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, GPU Nuclear Corporation is
-hereby required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of the letter which transmitted this Notice, a written statement or explana-tion in reply,. including: (1) the corrective steps which have been _taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further. violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending this response time.
