Dear Mr. Riley:

As one of the parties to the completed proceedings in the matter of Duke Power Company's application for operating licenses for the Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2, you have been receiving copies of correspondence to the licensee originated by the Division of PWR Licensing-A during our review of the application and subsequent licensing and operation of the facilities.

In accordance with the Nuclear Regulatory Consnission's regulations, doc-uments filed by the licensee and correspondence from us regarding the operation of the facilities will continue to be made available in the NRC and local public document rooms.

In addition, NRC field offices or headquarters will issue public announcements should any significant events occur with respect to the facilities.

Since the proceedings to which you were counsel for an intervening party have been completed and operating licenses issued for the Catawba facilities, and in light of the availability of documents in the public records, we will discontinue sending you copies of our correspondence to Duke Power Company. We hope that we have been helpful over the years and that the above sources of information will adequately serve your future needs.
