Hope Creek Emergency Preparedness Exercise Based on discussions between our respective staffs, I understand that the State of New Jersey and Public Service Electric & Gas have agreed to change the Hope Creek exercise date as requested by the NRC from November 13 to November 12, 1986.
Discussion with FEMA Region II on September 24, 1986 indicates that they will also support this schedule change.
NRC Region I will be participating in this exercise as a player.
This involvement will be in addition to, and completely separate from, the normal NRC inspection team which will evaluate your performance.
In addition to NRC Region I participation in the exercise, NRC Headquarters will be participating with a full staffing of the Headquarters response organization. This level of NRC participation will be typical of what could be expected to respond in the early stages to a major event at the Hope Creek or Salem Nuclear Power Plants.
