Three Mile Nuclear Station Unit 1 (TMI-1)
Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 10 CFR 50 Appendix R Procedure Revision On February 5,1987, a meeting was held with the NRC to discuss Appendix R exemption requests.
As a result of the meeting, GPUN is committing to revise the TMI-l fire emergency procedure.
The procedure will be revised to require that for the fire areas or zones where a 30 minute or less manual action is necessary, upon confirmation of a fire, an operator will immediately be dispatched to the remote shutdown panels and dedicated to implement the 30 minute action if and when required. Communication with the Control Room will be established. The following fire areas and zones are affected:
AB-FZ-6 CB-FA-3C CB-FA-1 DG-FA-2 CB-FA-2A FH-FZ-1 CB-FA-2B FH-FZ-2 CB-FA-2D FH-F Z-5 CB-FA-2F IB-F Z-2 CB-FA-2G ISPH-FZ-1 The fire emergency procedure will be revised to implement the above commitment prior to startup for Cycle 6.
