RESULTS OF SECOND ACCEPTANCE REVIEW OF THE CP APPLICATION FOR WPPSS NUCLEAR PROJECTS NO. 3 AND NO. 5 On July 15,1974, Washington Public Ptrwer Supply System (WPPSS) tendered a revised application eenstating af the PSAR and General and Fi==cial
!aformation for the WPPSS Neelear Project No. 3 and the WPPSS Nuclear Project No. 5 facilities. 'Ihe retendered PEAR has been revised to correct deficiencies in the areas of geology, seismology, eaatal==ent systems, and electrical, instrumentation and control systems which were identified during the staff's acceptance review and dae===ented in bleenre No. I to our April 15,1974 letter to the applicant which rejected the application. We have reviewed the revised PSAR considerlag the areas identified as deficient, and have concluded that the required information has been supplied and that the PSAR is acceptable for docketing. In its May 30, 1974 memo, the Directorate of Regulatory Operations motified as that, during a followup inspection of the applicant's Osality Assurance 7.,-m for WNP-3 and WNP-8, it was found that the applicant has satisfactorily corrected the previous deficiencies reported in RO Inspection Report No. 501/74-01.
The applicant's implementation of the quality assurance program complies with the requirements of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 and is consistent with the status of these projects.
Considering the above items, we recommend acceptance of the WNP-3 and WNP-5 PSAR for docketing.
