ADDENDUM 1 Crystal River Mariculture Center NPDES FL0000159/IT09154804F Section 1. of NPDES Permit Number FL0000159/IT09154804F for Crystal River Units 1, 2 and 3 applies to wastewater from the Fish Hatchery. Section 1.1,

• Effluent Limitations and Monitoring Requirements," requires two grab samples be collected per month at the point of discharge from the Fish Hatchery system, prior to the site discharge canal, with a pH limit of 8.5 Standard Units (S.U.). In the month of July 1997, one of the two grab samples collected from the ditch had a measured pH of 8.7 S.U., exceeding the pH limit of 8.5 S.U. However, the pH value measured in the tank prior to discharge had a pH of 7.6 S.U. Therefore, it is likely that the high pH value was the result of mixing the 7.6 S.U. pH discharge water with the 8.9 S.U. pH background water.
