ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT NO. 7 TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. R-108, DOWCHEMICALCOMPANY(TACNO.M89940)
Dear Dr. Butts:
The Comission has issued enclosed Amendment No. 7 to Facility Operating License No. R-108 for the Dow Chemical Company TRIGA Research Reactor.
The amendment consists of changes to the technical specifications (TSs) in response to your submittal of May 5, 1994, as supplemented on February 8 and August 7, 1995, June 18 and October 8, 1996, and February 24 and June 16, 1997.
1 The amendment (1) deletes the requirement for a scram function on minimum reactor period, (2) changes the schedule for periodic inspection of reactor fuel, (3) adds a defined quarterly surveillance interval, ( ) modifies the organizational structure for the facility, and (5) makes ot er changes that are administrative in nature to clarify or update the TSs.
j A copy of the safety evaluation supporting Amendment No. 7 is also enclosed.
