Gentlemen:
This .'efers to the routine safety inspection conductiid by Dr. M. J. Oestmann
and Mr. A. G. Januska of this office on August 25-29, 1986, of activities at
Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station authorized by NRC Cperating License No. NPF-3
and to the discussion of our findings with D. R. Amnerine and others of your
staTT at Liie conclusion of the inspection.
Additional discussions were held
with J. Ferguson on September 3, 1986 and with J. Sturdavant on September 4,

1986.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance-with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy

NRC Public Document Room.
