ATTN: Mr. J. E. Booker M0'Brien I

Dear Mr. Cahill:

The Comptroller General in a Report to the Congress dated September 19, 1984,

.i -

stated "NRC needs better management controls to ensure implementation of generic issue solutions." To correct this situation, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is working on a long-term program which will improve its documentation c

on the status of power reactor licensees' implementation of approved regulatory i

improvements.

s To assist the staff in developing this information for River Bend Station, j

please review the enclosed " rough cut" plant-specific list of NRC approved multiplant actions. Please add omitted significant actions to the list and c

provide the status information as identified in the enclosure.

Since the list of NRC approved multiplant issues reflects many issues which l

were incorporated into the licensing review of River Bend Station, please provide information, at this time, on those generic actions which either' have yet to be implemented, are conditions 01 the River Bend license, or are

~

identified in the River Bend SER for implementation. Please provide a response j

in the form of a marked up listing by May 31, 1986.

In the future, the staff expects to incorporate estimated implementation schedules in SERs.

This request is covered by OMB Clearance Number 3150-0011, which expires September 30, 1986.

l We appreciate your cooperation with us in this matter.

Sincerely, i
