Dear Mr. Murley:
Please be advised that the Security and Safeguards Contingency Plan, submitted under Docket No.
50-410, and subsequently approved per correspondence, dated April 21, 1986, from Ms. Elinor G.
Adensam, Director, Project Directorate No. 3, Division of BWR Licensing, considers both Units I and 2 to be within a common protected area, and was written to incorporate all security commitments for both Units.
It is our intention to replace the Unit I Security Plan with this
" combined plan" when it is fully implemented on September 20, 1986, or upon licensing of Unit 2 if sooner.
This replacement has been discussed with Mr.
R.B. Manili, NMSS, who reviewed the Unit 2 Plan, and by Messrs. W. Martin and G. Smith of your staf f, who conducted pre-operational inspections of Unit 2.
This change is being made in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(p).
Supporting information, which demonstrates that this change does not decrease the effectiveness of the Security Program, is set forth in Attachment A.
We hereby request that the material submitted with this letter be withheld from public disclosure in that it contains Safeguards Information of a type specified in 10 CFR 73.21.
