Mr. William J. Lindblad President

Dear Mr. Lindblad:

@c invite your utility's participation in a one-day workshop on the NRC's Incident Investigation Program (IIP). An agenda for the workshop is enclosed (Enclosure 1). Please note that we have included a brief session at the end of the workshop on NRC's approach to performance indicators for those who are interested in that subject.

The purpose of the workshop on IIP is to give you an understanding of the process by which NRC will investigate potential significant incidents and to provide an opportunity to gain insight into what NRC will expect of the utility in this process. You will have an opportunity to raise questions about the process and its impact on you.

The workshop for utilities in NRC Region V will take place on Wednesday, March 11, 1987, at the NRC Region V office in Walnut Creek.
