REPORT NO. 86-17, MOTOR DRIVEN FIRE PUMP IN0PERABILITY The Sacramento Municipal Utility District hereby submits Special Report No. 86-17 in accordance with Technical Specifications, Section 3.14.2 and 6.9.5.E.
During cold shutdown on August 19, 1986, the Motor Driven Fire Pump had been out of service for seven days. The Rancho Seco Technical Specifications require that after pump P-440 is out of service for more than 7 days, a special report be submitted pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.5.E within 30 days.
CAUSE OF THE INOPERABILITY On August 12, 1986, the Motor Driven Fire Pump was removed froTi service for scheduled maintenance on the pump motor.
The motor was shipped off site to a vendor for the maintenance work.
PUMP P-440 IS NOW OPERABLE The pump was returned to service August 22, 1986.
