Dear Mr. Leonard:
Chronic Toxicity Bioassay Report Diablo Canvon Pfwer Plant - NPDES No. CA0QO325,1 Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP) has conducted chronic toxicity test's of the DCPP effluent in accordance with the 1990 California Ocean Plan (Ocean Plan).
The enclosure to this letter is a report of the tests conducted to determine compliance with the Ocean Plan toxicity objective and_to determine tho most sensitive species eh g nne year screening poriod. The tonts were conducted once each calendar quarter with three test organisms from the nine appiovW test protocols listed in Appendix 11 of the Ocean Plan.
As provided for in the Ocean Plan, PG&E is requesting concurrence from the Regional Board for the use of a single species, the red abalone, for continued chronic toxicity monitoring at DCPP. This is in accordance with the Conclusions d,sd Recommendations section of the enclosed report. Also, PG&E understands that the Regional Board staff believes the red abalone to be the desirablo test.
