By letter dated February 3,1987, you requested NRC concurrence on DOE's decision to direct the State of New Mexico to acquire the area within the proposed final disposal boundary of the Ambrosia Lake processing site. Pursuant to Paragraph 4.2.1 of Apperdix A to the DOE /NRC Memorandum of Understanding and Section104(a)ofFublicLaw95-604,concurrenceisherebygiven. This concurrence is given with the understanding that the alternative of relocation to an active tailings site has been removed from consideration.
