CHANGE IN PLANT GENERAL MANAGERS Effective May 1,1987, Mr David P Hoffman is appointed as Plant General Manager, Palisades Plant and Mr Thomas W Elward is appointed as Plant Manager, Big Rock Point Plant.
Mr Hoffman replaces Joseph F Firlit who is leaving Consumers Power Company.
Prior to his assignment to Palisades, Mr Hoffman was Plant Superintendent of Big Rock Point for five years. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Michigan and holds bachelor of science and master of science degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. He held a senior reactor operator license at the University of Michigan's Ford research reactor from 1967 to 1970. Prior to joining Consumers Power, Mr Hoffman spent five years in the engineering research department of the Detroit Edison Company.
Mr Hoffman joined Consumers Power Company in 1975 as a senior engineer and was promoted to Nuclear Licensing Administrator in 1979. He assumed the position of Plant Superintendent, Big Rock Point in June 1982, after transferring to the plant as assistant plant superintendent in February of that year.
Mr Elward replaces Mr Hoffman at Big Rock Point. Prior to his assignment to Big Rock Point, Mr Elward was Executive Director of Energy Supply Planning, Training and Administration for Consumers Power Company. He was responsible for electric production planning, integrated outage scheduling, nuclear training, fossil skills training and contracting services. Throughout his assignments at corporate headquarters, Mr E1 ward remained active in nuclear operations serving as On-Call Director and Emergency Officer for site emergency plan exercises. He holds a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Detroit and a master of science degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Illinois. He is also a recent graduate of the Program for Management Development from the Harvard Business g_
School.

Palisades and Big Rock Point Plants Change in Plant General Managers May 1, 1987 Mr Elward joined Consumers Power Company in 1972 at the Palisades Plant where he held a variety of engineering positions including senior reactor engineer and he held a senior reactor operator license. He then served two years as Big Rock Point Plant Technical Superintendent, three years as Midland Plant Technical Superintendent and one year as Midland Plant Operations and Maintenance Superintendent.
In 1981 Mr Elward relocated to corporate headquarters as the Director of Nuclear Planning. From this assignment he was promoted to Executive Director of Nuclear Activities where he was responsible for all engineering and licensing support of Consumers Power Company's operating nuclear plants.
In late 1983 he became Executive Director of Nuclear Planning and Administration.
In 1985, nuclear training was added to his area of responsibility.
