APR 2 91987 Docket No. 50-461 Illinois Power Company ATTN: Mr. W. C. Gerstner Executive Vice President 500 South 27th Street Decatur. IL 62525 Gentlemen:
{
SUBJECT:
CLINTON POWER STATION OPERATOR LICENSING EXAMINATIONS In a telephone conversation on April 23, 1987, between Mr. Ernest Till, and Mr. T. M. Burdick, NRC Region III Operator Licensing Section Chief, clarification of tentative arrangements were made for Operator Licensing Examinations at the Clinton Power Station during the period of October 26, 1987, through November 6, 1987.
In a letter dated April 16, 1987, you requested two conditions be applied to the examinations regarding the scope of examinations and the potential for waiver of certain eligibility requirements (such as required reactivity manipulations and one month on shif t above 20% power).
As discussed, consideration of waiver requests cannot be made until the license applications are received. Upon receipt each waiver request should include sufficient justification that demonstrates a good faith effort to complete all required eligibility requirements.
Based on this clarification, we understand that you are evaluating the need to reschedule the examinations.
If you have any additional questions on this matter, please contact Mr. John Bjorgen, license examiner at (312) 790-5559.
Sincerely, I
