Update Report on Inoperable Fire Barrier Due to a Missing Fire Damper This supplemental report is provided to update the status of actions taken to restore an inoperable fire barrier.
Reference 2 provided a special report pertaining to a duct penetration in the fire barrier wall separating fire areas 36A and 36B which did not have a fire damper installed.
The planned modification to correct the fire damper will not be installed during the 1987 refueling outage as indicted in our referenced report.
The installation of the fire damper will now be performed as an on-line modifica-tion.
It is anticipated that the design and installation will be complete by December 31, 1987.
A followup report confirming operability of the fire barrier will be issued within 30 days of completion of work.
Upon discovery of the inoperable fire barrier, an hourly firewatch was initi-l ated and will remain in effect pursuant to the Technical Specifications.
