Ouring the week of July 27, 1986, the NRC administered requalification examinations for selected licensed personnel at the Fermi 2 facility. A review of the examinations, for five individuals, identified that the results of the simulator portion of the examinations were indeterminate. As a determination as to the acceptability of the examinations could not be made, it was decided that the five senior operator licensed individuals would be

reexamined on the simulator during the week of August 25, 1986.

l The results of the initial examinations and our determination to reexamine the individuals were discussed with you on August 18, 1986, at which time you committed to remove the five senior licensed individuals from licensed duties pending reexamination. Your commitment was confirmed in our Confirmatory Action Letter dated August 19, 1986.

During the week of August 25, 1986, the NRC administered simulator examinations to four of the original fiverindividuals and to an additional I

five licensed operators. On August 29,1986 ,'the satisfactory results of all nine individuals were made known to you during the examination team's exit interview. You were also informed that the four individuals, identified by their license numbers in the attachment, who were reexamined could be returned to licensed activities.

The fifth senior reactor operator, who was unavailable for reexamination, will continue to be removed from licensed duties. This senior operator's return to licensed duties is additionally conditioned es indicated in Item IV.B of Commission Order EA-86-01 dated July 3, 1986.
