Dear Ms. Moller:

This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated February 25, 1987 to the Region V Office of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Pursuant to 10 CFR 62.206, you request the NRC to order the Licensee at the Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station to show cause why it should not be prevented from restarting until a complete check of all cables is undertaken or, in the alternative why it should not be completely shutdown. As the bases for your Petition, you reference (1) the " official investigation" concerning falsification of cable tray data and (2) the problem-laden history of the facility.

The Petition is being treated under 10 CFR 52.206 of the Commission's regulations and appropriate action will be taken within a reasonable time. A copy of the notice that is being filed for publication with the Office of the Federal Register is enclosed for your information.

Sincerely, Drit:inal ci;;r c ic/
