Generic letter 83-28 regarding the Salem ATWS events required licensees to, among other things, review their existing Technical Specifications (TSs) for post-maintenance testing requirements that may degrade rather than enhance safety (Items 3.1.3 and 3.2.3). You responded to these items for Crystal River Unit 3 (CR-3) in your submittals of November 4,1983 and July 31, 1984 Our contractor (EG&G) has completed its review of responses to these items and sumarized its review in the enclosure. We concur with the enclosure and with the conclusion that your responses on these items for CR-3 are acceptable.
