SUMMARY
- V0GTLE FACILITY - DOCKET N0. 50-424 This refers to the technical meeting conducted at your request in the NRC Region II Office on August 12, 1986.
This meeting was held to brief the NRC on the Vogtle Raychem electrical splice installations.
This meeting was held to provide the NRC staff additional technical information pertaining to questions raised during our inspection on July 21-25, 1986, on the Raychem electrical splice installations.
It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial and has provided a compre-hensive overview of the Vogtle Raychem Splice Installations, specifically, the material presented.
These in-depth presentations will better enable the NRC to conduct its evaluations of this item.
i In accordance with Section 2.790 of NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC public Document Room.

ENCLOSURE 2 Meeting Suninary On August 12, 1986 GPC technical personnel met with NRC Region II technical personnel to discuss the Raychem electrical splice installations at the Vogtle facility. The following subjects were covered:
1.
The total number of splices involving breakout boots (both 3-way and 4-way);
2.
The training of craft personnel, field engineers, and quality control inspectors in the design and installations of Raychem electrical splices; 3.
Quality Assurance Department involvement in the Raychem splice installations.
l Based on GPC's technical briefing of the topics mentioned above, it was evident that GPC is very much involved in identifying the impact on hardware as a result of field installed 3-way and 4-way Raychem splices.
The applicant stated that additional information for NRC review would be available within six weeks.
