Subject application has been reviewed by this headquarters and is forwarded (Encl).

Recommend approval.

USACSTA requests to decrease the allowable amount of Uranium-235 to 12 grams total.

Uranium-235 in solid and gaseous forms was used as a power source for nuclear pumped lasers.

The experiments are no longer conducted, and the radioactive material has been disposed.

3 The application has been coordinated with the U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Ground radiation protection officer.
