i ENCLOSURE 2 NOTICE OF DEVIATION Tennessee Valley Authority Docket Nos. 50-327 ard 50-328 Sequoyah Units 1 and 2 License Nos. OPR-77 and DPR-79 The following deviation was identified during a Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspection conducted on February 6 - March 5, 1987.
The Sequoyah nuclear plant Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) states i
that, "all equipment installed to reduce radioactive effluents to the minimum practicable level is maintained in good operating order....
In order to assure that these conditions are met, administrative controls are exercised on overall operation of the system; preventive maintenance is utilized to maintain equipment in peak condition; and experience available from similar operation at Sequoyah nuclear plant.' plants is used in planning for l
Contrary to the above, the licensee failed to conduct routine preventive maintenance on the condensate demineralizer waste evaporator (CDWE) equipment.
Please provide in writing within 30 days of the date of this Notice a description of corrective actions regarding this deviation, actions taken to avoid further deviations, and the dates when these actions were or will be completed.
