Thank you for your letter of August 6,1986, in response to our letter and

Notice of Violation dated July 7,1986, as a result of an inspection.

A self-identified and reported violation was reviewed and observed during this

inspection. As discussed with you during the enforcement conference of

November 25, 1985, we regard this matter with great concern. We indicated that

we would review your response, including the actions you propose to improve.

Based on our review of your response, we have no further questions at this

time on your proposed corrective actions. We will review the implementation

of these actions during a future inspection to ensure they have been effective

Gentlemen:

This letter is written in response to your letter of July 7,

1986, which

transmitted violation 482/8544-01.

The issue was also discussed in the

Enforcement Conference held November 25, 1985.

As requested,

the violation

is addressed in five parts which are presented in Attachment A.

a)

Admission or denial of the alleged violation;

b)

The reason for the violation, if admitted;

c)

The corrective steps which have been taken and results achieved;

d)

The corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further

violations; and

e)

The date when full compliance will be achived.

Attachment A contains Safeguards Information in accordance with 10 CPR 73 21

and therefore should be withheld from public disclosure. This letter, when

separated from the attachment, does not contain Safeguards Information and

should be handled as decontrolled.
