Dear Mr. Bechhoefer:

I write in support of Vermont Yankee's request to expand the capacity of its spent fuel pool. Vermont Yankee has been in operation for almost 15 years and has consistently demonstrated a l concern for plant safety. Their request to obtain a license amendment has, I trust, been undertaken with their typical, high regard for the health and welfare of the community.

Additionally, to lose Vermont Yankee prematurely because of a 4

request denial would cause a severe economic impact on Brattleboro and surrounding towns.

i I ask your consideration of the above in rendering your important decision.

1 Sincerely, y G W.
