DOCKET NOS. 50-348 AND 50-364 - FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT RADIOLOGICAL EMERGENCY PLAN REVIEW, REVISION 12 Thank you for your response of December 23, 1986, to our plan review letter dated i December 2,1986, regarding Revision 12 to the Farley Nuclear Plant Radiological 1 Emergency Plan (REP). We have completed our evaluation of your justification and documentation to support the one-hour notification time limit for " Notification of Unusual Event" to State authorities.
We have found your proposal for one-hour notification acceptable for
" Notification of Unusual Event" based on the documentation that was provided to indicate the States' (Alabama and Georgia) acceptance. This is in agreement with commitments made in your letter dated February 3, 1986, regarding State -
concurrence for the one-hour limit. Therefore, the one-hour time limit in Revision 12 is considered acceptable, but we encourage you to provide early warning and notification to offsite authorities regarding events with a high probability of being escalated to a higher classification or with significant media interest.
