EVALUATION MEMORANDUM: REVIEW OF GENERAL ELECTRIC EXEMP REQUEST GE-Wilmington, in a letter dated October 12, 1984, requests an exemption from the requirements of 10 CFR 70.58(e) that the specific number of samples and analyses be used in the calculation of limits of error for each measured quantity shipped off-site per the DOE /NRC Form 741. GE asks to use an average rather than a specific number of samples and analyses in the calculation of limits of errors for those cases where batches of tLa same material type are listed en tho same DOE /NRC Form 741.

GE's sampling plan specifies that a minimum number of samples be collected from each batch of the various types of materials transferred. On occasion, more that the minimum numbers of samples are' taken and analyzed to detemine the applicable uranium or enrichment factors.

In order to sicplify calculating L of Es for different batches (all of the same material type), when one qc.rnore batch has a different number of samples anal.yses, GE establishes a[
