The Nuclear Regulatory Comission has completed its SALP Assessment relating to the performance of your Zion reactor facility and will present it findings at a meeting on April 1,1987, at 7:00 p.m. at the Illinois Beach Resort Hotel in Zion, Illinois. Arrangements for this meeting were made between P. LeBlond of your staff and R. Lerch on March 6,1987.
We encourage Comonwealth Edison to have appropriate corporate and plant management representation at the meeting to ensure a mutual understanding of the issues and findings being presented by NRC.
While this meeting is considered a presentation and discussion forum between the Comonwcalth Edison Company and the NRC, the meeting will be opened to any other interested parties as observers. Those persons outside the licensee and NRC staffs should inform the Regional Office, well in advance of the meeting, of their intent to attend, so possible space limitations can be accomodated.
We hope this meeting will benefit your organization and provide you with a mean-ingful characterization of the overall safety performance for the Zion plant.
