Dear Mr. Mroczka:
SUBJECT:
liADDAM NECK PLANT OPERATING LICENSE EXTENSION -
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT By letter dated November 24, 1936, Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAPCO) requested a license amendment to extend the expiration date of the Haddam Neck Plant Operating License until June 29, 2007. The staff has been reviewing this request and hat, concluded that additional information is required to complete our environment assessment. Staff legal counsel has issued guidance that all license extension amendnents should address the shipping of spent fuel offsite. A request for additional information con-cerning this subject is enclosed. This information should be provided even if CYAPC0 is not currently transporting spent fuel and may not even have plans for such shipments.
It is conceivable that CYAPC0 will ship fuel at some future date once a high-level waste repository is completed.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OVB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
Sincerely, L9H.6%I&cz,JF.',
