SUBJECT:

Additional Information Concerning Item 285/8614-01

Dear Mr. Gagliardo:

In Reference 3, the Omaha Public Power District responded to a violation on the failure to maintain cable and cable tray installations in accordance with design documentation. A series of corrective actions were provided, one of which was to implement a computerized cable and conduit schedule.

The implementation schedule given for this step was December 31, 1986. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of progress made to date, and to revise the implementation schedule accordingly.

At the present time, OPPD has a consultant assisting with this effort.

Software development is 80% complete. The cable data collection effort is 75% complete.

The cable routing data collection is 50% complete.

To date, approximately 2500 manhours have been expended on data collection and soft-ware development.

Because the data included in the program is safety related, an independent verification of data collection and data entry is being performed. Additionally, software development is being done in accordance with OPPD's software QA procedures.

These requirements have extended the expected implementation date from December 31, 1986, to j

March 31, 1987.
