Final Radiation Survey Report for Building 055, the NMDF, at the Rocketdyne Santa Susana Field Laboratory
Dear Mr. Thomas:
Atomics International has recently completed the decontamination and decomissioning of Building 055, the plutonium research and development facility, which is located at the Rocketdyne Santa Susana Field Labora-tory and licensed under Special Nuclear Materials License No. SNM-21.
The decontamination and decomissioning of the facility has been con-l ducted as described in Document AI-78-10. " Decontamination Plan for i
Atomics International Facilities Licensed Under Special Nuclear Mate-rials SNM-21," which was incorporated in the license as renewed June 28, 1984.
With completion of the decontamination and decomissioning of the L
facility, a report has been prepared on the comprehensive radiation
[
survey which was made to establish that the contamination in Build-j ing 055 is below the limits specified in Table 1 of Annex B to the l
SNM-21 license. This document, N7045RR990027, " Final Radiation Survey of the NMDF," describes the facility, the efforts that have been made L
to assure removal of residual contamination, the scope of the survey and the procedures followed, and presents the results of the survey which show that the contamination is well below the limits specified in f
Annex B to the license.
Four copies of the report are enclosed for your review.
