proposed a methodology, which utilizes probabilistic techniques to resolve SEP

, Topics III-2 and III-4.A. The staff has reviewed this submittal and agree the i I

approach appears to be reasonable. We note that this approach relies heavily  !

i on the use of the TORMIS Code. i j The application of this Code for tne Haddam Neck site has not been reviewed. l j As your staff noted, the NRC staff SER regarding TORMIS, dated November 29,  !

1983, noted several caveats for use of this Code at any particular site. The

i NRC staff recomends that CYAPC0 address the items noted in our SER, so that l the NRC can determine the applicability of the TORMIS Code at the Haddam Neck site.
